Participating Banks

Except for SBI, almost all the major Public Sector Banks are participating in the CWE. CutOff Score

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each section. There will be a second level cutoff point on total as per requirement. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview. Marks obtained only in the Main examination will be considered for short listing for interview and also for Final merit listing.

Common Interviews for Bank jobs:

  1. Order of preference for Banks will be obtained from candidates at the time of applying for the CWE
  2. Candidates who qualify in the CWE will be called for a Common Interview to be co-ordinated by IBPS.
  3. Candidates, successful in qualifying in both the CWE and Common Interview will be listed in the order of merit
  4. Based on the total marks (CWE + CI) as well as the indication of order of preference of Banks and available vacancies, candidate will receive through a computerised system an offer from one of the Participating Public Sector Banks.

About IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria

IBPS CWE (clerk/MT) for PSBs 20-28 Years Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification

Computer Literacy

Some banks insist that the candidate should posses working knowledge of computers before joining the bank and few banks mention that the desired computer skills may be acquired within six months of joining the bank. If a candidate has not studied computers as one of the subjects in school/college, the candidate must possess a valid diploma (basic applications) in computers.

Language Proficiency

Public Sector Banks

Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply.

Regional Rural Banks

For Office Assistants (Clerks) and Scale-I Officers ---- Candidates are required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT in which RRB is located.

How to Apply

Before applying online, candidates should:

(1) Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that the both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications as given in the notification.

(2) Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.

(3) Keep the necessary details/ documents ready in order to make online payment of the requisite application fee.

(4) Have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results.

Candidates have the option of making the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges through the ONLINE mode only

Filling in the Online Application: Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of each page. Before pressing the “SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to verify every particular filled in the application. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.

After applying on-line, the candidate should immediately take a printout of the system-generated on-line application form, ensure that the particulars filled in are accurate and retain it for future reference. Please note that all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of birth, Address, Email ID, Centre of Examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date specified for Editing/ Updating the same. Candidates are hence requested to fill in the online application form with utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained.

About IBPS PO Exam Pattern

Both P.O. and clerical recruitments comprise at least two stages of exams, viz. a written test, and an interview. The written test normally comprises an objective type test and a descriptive test (for PO exams like SBI, NICL, and RBI etc.). There is no descriptive test for clerical exams. The interview is normally a personal interview or sometimes, a combination of group discussion and personal interview.

Bank PO/Clerical Exams: Almost all bank exams have gone the online mode from the traditional pen-paper mode. The test areas in the objective type test of PO/Clerical exams include tests from amongst Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English language, Marketing Aptitude and Computer Knowledge. The Descriptive Writing Test (for PO exams like SBI, NICL, RBI etc.). is to check the proficiency of the student in English Language. It would consist of a test on English Composition comprising Letter Writing, Essay Writing and Precise Writing etc.

  1. The above tests, except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
  2. There is no Descriptive Writing Test for IBPS CWE for PO/MT
    • Negative Marking: 1/4th or 0.25 marks assigned to the question will be deducted.
    • Interview Marks: The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview is 40%(35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of marks of CWE and interview will be 80:20.
    • Final Selection: The combined final scores of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in Main Examination and Interview. The weightage (ratio) of marks of CWE and interview will be 80:20

Process of Arriving at Scores:

The Scores of Online Main Examination are obtained by adopting the following procedure:
  • Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Corrected Score after applying penalty for wrong answers.
  • The Corrected Scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores.
Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.
  • Final scores in each test are rounded off to two digits after the decimal point.

  1. On Scores in individuals tests
  2. On Total Score
